Long-Range Jet Air Handling Unit

The long-range jet air handling unit is a new type of air-conditioning unit developed by our company to meet user needs. The unit features a ceiling-mounted structure with basic functions such as cooling and heating; it also adopts a manually adjustable spherical jet air diffuser as the supply outlet, enabling ductless long-distance air supply, and offers such advantages as space-saving, low engineering investment, and low operating costs. Meanwhile, the unit's supply-air angle can be freely adjusted within a 60° range, ensuring that cold and hot air is delivered to the designated air-conditioned zone and creating a comfortable air-conditioned environment.

Design Selection

The airflow range of the remote jet air handling unit is 1200–12000 m³/h, with an external static pressure of 0 Pa; its performance parameters such as cooling and heating capacity are the same as those of ordinary ceiling-mounted air handling units. Design selection mainly involves air-distribution calculation; for a specific project, once the supply-air distance, installation height, supply airflow, and supply-air temperature are roughly determined, an appropriate remote jet unit needs to be selected.

Applicable Occasions

1. Projects with large supply-air spaces that aim to reduce engineering installation investment and save air-conditioning operation and maintenance costs.
2. Large-space venues where ductwork layout is difficult or hard to install.
3. Venues where the space is large and high and air-conditioning hot air is difficult to supply downward; for example: large supermarkets, large commercial buildings, stadiums, factory workshops, waiting halls, exhibition halls, entrance halls, lobbies, etc.

The selection of the remote jet air handling unit must meet the following basic requirements:

1. Cold and hot air must be ensured to reach the designated position.
2. The jet cold air must not drop midway, causing discomfort to occupants.
3. The jet hot air must reach the required supply-air distance and position.
4. The terminal temperature difference must meet the design requirements.
Notes:
01. Design selection should consider the mutual influence and combined effect among multiple unit supply outlets; the jet diffusion width is roughly 0.4 times the jet throw.
02. The unit layout density should be slightly less than the diffusion width.
03. If the unit is installed tightly against the ceiling, the effect of airflow attachment should be considered; the throw of the attached airflow is about 1.4 times that of ordinary airflow.
