Rotor Supplies 74 Heat-Pipe Units For Hangzhou Asian Games

During the preparation and operation of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, Rotor supplied 74 air-cooled heat-pipe heat-recovery units for multiple competition and training venues, used for energy-efficient operation of the venues' ventilation and air-conditioning systems. This marked Rotor's fifth participation in international major sporting-event HVAC projects, following the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, the 2019 Wuhan Military World Games, and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

Hangzhou is located in a hot-summer/cold-winter region, with hot and humid summers and damp-cold winters. The Asian Games venues needed to operate continuously while also accommodating intermittent starts and stops according to the competition schedule. This placed high demands on the ventilation and air-conditioning systems in terms of hygiene, energy efficiency, and comfort. The air-cooled heat-pipe heat-recovery units use heat-pipe technology to recover waste cooling and heating from exhaust air, reducing the energy consumption of fresh-air treatment in summer and recovering waste heat from exhaust air in winter, balancing hygiene, energy efficiency, and comfort requirements alongside the venues' intermittent operation mode.

Rotor's 74 air-cooled heat-pipe heat-recovery units were distributed across multiple competition and training venues. In terms of product selection, the units were differentially configured based on each venue's building area, occupancy, operating hours, and fresh-air volume requirements. In terms of operation control, the units support integration with the building automation system, automatically adjusting fresh-air and exhaust-air damper openings based on indoor carbon-dioxide concentration, temperature, and humidity parameters.

HVAC projects for sports venues are characterized by tight schedules, high requirements, and significant impact. Rotor has accumulated mature sports-venue process experience through repeated participation in major sporting-event projects. During the implementation of the Hangzhou Asian Games project, Rotor's team worked closely with design institutes, construction units, and supervisory units, completing production, factory inspection, transportation, installation, commissioning, and acceptance on schedule.

The successful staging of the Hangzhou Asian Games was a celebration of Asian sports and a showcase of Rotor's products on the international sporting-event stage. Moving forward, Rotor will continue its R&D direction of energy efficiency, operational stability, and low-dew-point performance, providing reliable ventilation and air-conditioning solutions for large public-building projects both domestically and internationally.
